Dr. Richard A. NeubauerRichard A. Neubauer, M.D. was internationally recognized as a pioneer in the application of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) for a variety of neurological and related illnesses and disorders.

He remained active with research and clinical work throughout his career and was always willing to share his great knowledge and expertise with colleagues, patients and wider audiences. He derived enormous pleasure from seeing those around him harness and develop the ongoing evolution of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) from all points of the globe and introduced bi-annual symposiums to expand the knowledge base of HBOT.

Before Dr. Neubauer passed away, he asked that Dr. Donald Jolly-Gabriel, his mentee of 30 years, and the Executive Director of the Hyperbaric Oxygen Institute, to continue this important non-profit work in education and fundraising for those who need assistance in offsetting the cost of HBOT. In 2007 after Dr. Neubauer passed away, the non-profit organization was renamed “The Richard A Neubauer Research Institute” in honor of Dr. Neubauer and his great work.

A short documentary exploring the application of Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment (HBOT) dealing specifically with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) on injured soldiers deployed to Iraq & Afghanistan.
